BLACKWELL houseplace
Made in 2010, 'Continuing Drama' is essentially a ceramic soap opera comprising 25 enclosed porcelain forms or characters, housed in a cabinet, allowing the creation of endless episodes.
Blu di Nettuno (2012) is a monochromatic composition sitting atop a wedge-shaped plinth which can extend out over the edge of a table or shelf. These images show the pieces teetering lemming-like at the very edge of the plinth.
Abode of Stones - an edition of five made from 2011-2013 - has 21 small pots which can be choreographed on different stages.
“…and scatter” (2018)Made for an exhibition in Ditchling, East Sussex, this piece comprises hollow porcelain hemispheres glazed to suggest ploughed and fallow land, the landscape in which the village sits. They are grouped on a scorched oak plinth.
